Suspect sought after east-end bus shelters vandalized

Toronto police are searching for suspects after at least two dozen bus shelters were shattered in Scarborough, Pickering and Ajax over the weekend.

At least 16 bus shelters were shattered near Sheppard Avenue and McCowan Road on Tuesday morning. Officers say a TTC bus had its front window damaged as well.

In Pickering, the vandalism to at least eight bus shelters occurred in the area of Oklahoma Drive near Whites Road, as well as along Kingston Road between Fairport and Brock roads.

In Ajax, the incidents occurred in the area of Harwood Avenue and Bayly Street, then southbound to Lake Driveway.

Each panel in the shelter costs approximately $500 to replace.

It’s not yet known how the damage was caused. Police did not find any shell casings or rocks near the shelters.
