The first incident took place around 3:10 a.m. in the Bloor West and Islington Avenue area.

About twenty minutes later, a 49-year-old woman noticed a man trying break into her home near Royal York Road and Norseman Street. The man fled before getting inside.

At 3:40 a.m. a 70-year-old woman was sleeping in her home near Royal York Road and The Queensway when a man broke in and sexually her. She was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The police canine unit was brought in to search the area, but the suspect is still at large.

He’s described as tanned or with a darker complexion, 20-25, five-feet-eight with a thin build.

He was last seen wearing dark clothing with a white cloth or T-shirt that covers his face and head but exposes his eyes.

Const. Tony Vella told CityNews additional officers are patrolling the area.

“We are looking for a man responsible for a series of sexual assaults,” he said. “We are desperately trying to identify who this man is, we’re quite concerned.”

“If you live in the area…lock your doors, lock your windows. If you note any suspicious activity call police. We need to find out who this man is.”
