Toronto man arrested for gas station scam

Police have arrested a 26-year-old Toronto man accused of using skimmed credit cards for a scam.

Officers say Lenin Sandrasingam told customers at Toronto gas stations he would pay for their gas using a gift card if they gave him cash — for a lower amount than the advertised price.

He would then allegedly use skimmed credit cards for the purchase.

Sandrasingam has been charged with two counts of using a credit card obtained by crime and two counts of breach of probation.

Police believe there may be more victims.
