Toronto police have arrested and charged a 14-year-old boy in connection with a string of break-and-enters in East York and southwest Scarborough.
The boy, who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, allegedly broke into five homes and tried to rob four more between Aug. 16 and Sept. 16.
Police say he was able to get into the homes through unlocked windows and cutting window screens. He allegedly took money and other valuables.
He was arrested on Thursday and charged with five counts of break-and-enter and four counts of attempt break-and-enter.
He will appear in court on Friday.
