Carly Rae Jepsen celebrates U.S. debut of her album ‘Kiss’

Breakout pop star Carly Rae Jepsen stepped out on the red carpet Thursday night, celebrating the release of Kiss, the singer’s debut album in the U.S.

The singer, who burst onto the music pop scene with the  success of her smash single, Call Me Maybe, called the party that took place at the hip West Hollywood club, Bootsy Bellows, a big night.

“I feel extremely lucky,” said Jepsen.  “I ask myself two-years ago if this could ever happen to me, I would not have believed it. So, I feel  like that tonight is the night that I get to celebrate the hard work and the great opportunity. My family is here, so it is going to be a pretty special night.”

As for the album, which dropped on Tuesday, the Canadian singer and songwriter believes her fans will love it as much as she does herself.

“I hope that they love it, I wrote it for them, I wrote it for myself, too, I guess,” said Jepsen. “It is all songs that are supposed to make you feel good. It is very much about love, since it is a fascination that I have had forever, continue to have and I hope they want to sing along and I hope they want to dance.”

This fall, Jepsen will also be heading out on the road with Justin Beiber, who helped jump-start her career in the U.S. after tweeting about a song he heard on the radio.

“It is going to be really exhilarating to be on stage with that many people there,” said Jepsen. “Not only am I pumped to be joining Justin, but, to be performing Kiss, which is a really fun album to sing and to just kind of embrace the costumes and lights and all the fun little things that go along with gearing up for a show like that.”
