Remains found at Dufferin transfer station belong to a bear: police

Toronto police say the remains found at the Dufferin transfer station belonged to a bear, not a human.

An employee at 35 Vanley Cres., near Finch Avenue West and Dufferin Street, found some organic matter and called police.

The coroner was dispatched to the station to investigate and the remains were examined at a forensics lab.

It’s unclear when the discovery was made but one person told CityNews police have been there since noon Thursday.

The area was cordoned off for the investigation but has since reopened.
