Justin Trudeau as Liberal leader would return party to power: poll

Justin Trudeau has announced that he will run for the federal Liberal leadership.

The 40-year-old MP from the Montreal riding of Papineau and the eldest son of the late Pierre Elliott Trudeau made his announcement Tuesday evening and was expected to kick off his campaign with visits to Calgary, Richmond, B.C., and then a stop in Mississauga on Thursday.

If Trudeau was leader, the Liberal party would win an election today, according to a Forum Research Inc. poll released Monday with close to 4-in-10 votes (39 per cent), compared with the Conservatives’ 32 per cent and NDP’st 20 per cent.

Could Trudeau be the antidote that the Liberals need to help return them to power? Is he qualified? Does he have more to offer than his good looks and the family lineage?
