Adele’s theme song for James Bond flick ‘Skyfall’ leaks

The theme song for the new James Bond movie Skyfall, written and performed by British singer Adele, leaked online early Tuesday morning.

It was posted on music hosting site SoundCloud and on YouTube but has since been removed.

The eight-time Grammy award winner posted a picture of the songbook on her official Twitter page on Monday. Adele is credited alongside “P. Epworth” – Paul Epworth was a producer on her hit song Rolling in the Deep.

The track, also called Skyfall, is scheduled to be released on Friday, the 50th anniversary of the James Bond film franchise.

Rumour has it the song features a 77-piece orchestra and is more in line with earlier Bond themes sung by Dame Shirley Bassey, and bears little resemblance to more recent rock-based songs. Chris Cornell performed You Know My Name for Casino Royale, which met with tepid reviews, and Jack White and Alicia Keys duetted on Another Way to Die for Quantum of Solace.

The movie Skyfall will be released on Nov. 9 in Canada.
