Serious crash shuts down southbound Hwy. 400 near Teston Road

A serious crash shut down the southbound lanes of Highway 400 at Teston Road for about an hour on Tuesday.

The two-vehicle collision happened just before 1:30 p.m.

At least one person has been taken to Sunnybrook hospital via air ambulance.

There’s no word yet on exactly how many people have been hurt or the extent of injuries.

ORNGE air ambulance service confirmed people were trapped in the wreckage.

Police temporarily shut down the northbound side of the highway in the area so the air ambulance could land. Most of the southbound lanes had reopened by 2:20 p.m., but the left lane remained closed for the investigation and clean up.
