Downsview Park merchants give away 300 free turkeys

Members of the Downsview Park Merchants Market got in the Thanksgiving spirit on Sunday.
They gave away 300 turkeys to needy families.
The giveaway started at noon at 40 Carl Hill Rd., near Keele Street and Sheppard Avenue West, in Downsview.
The turkeys — which weigh between three and five kilograms —were handed out on a first-come-first-served basis.
Families also received a five-pound bag of potatoes and a can of cranberry sauce.
