90-year-old man takes on the EdgeWalk

A 90-year-old Mississauga man celebrated his birthday by doing the CN Tower’s EdgeWalk.
Michael Welch turns 91 in December and said he was inspired to take on the 116 story adventure after one of his daughters emailed him photos of her experience.
“I said I want to do that so they have given it to me as a birthday present.”
Unlike others who have attempted the EdgeWalk, Welch said he was not a bit nervous.
“I love heights,” he exclaimed.
Welch served in World War II as a fighter pilot.
The EdgeWalk is not his first adventure. In the last two years he has swam with dolphins, gone horseback riding and white water rafted.
