Alcohol-related offences plunged 37% during Operation Impact

The number of alcohol-related offences plunged 37 per cent to 26 from 41 on Thanksgiving long weekend compared to the same period last year, Toronto police say.
Operation Impact began on Friday and ended Monday.
During the campaign there was one traffic fatality on Toronto roads.
In total there were 4,504 charges laid and 6,794 vehicles stopped during Operation Impact. Some of the charges included failing to use seat belts, speeding, distracted driving and aggressive driving.
Twenty-six people were charged with alcohol-related offences.
