A lucky day for brides and grooms became a busy day at Toronto’s city hall with eight weddings scheduled to be officiated on Thursday.
The date marks the 11th day of the 10th month in the year 2012 – or 10-11-12.
The first wedding was at 11:30 a.m. and the last one was scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
Chapels all over North America were busy, with Las Vegas venues offering numerology-based deals.
The Forever Grand at the MGM Grand was offering specials on both Oct. 11 and Oct. 12. A minister, limo, pianist and photos will set you back just $1,400.
Oct. 11 also marks the inaugural International Day of the Girl, and the date of the United States vice-presidential debate.
Back in 2003, brides-to-be chose 01/02/03 for their big day and the trend continued for several years. However, the sequential number tradition will end on Dec. 13, 2014 (12/13/14).
The next one won’t happen for another 100 years in 2103.
