Witnesses sought in East Gwillimbury crash

Police are appealing for witnesses to a crash in East Gwillimbury on Sunday night in which a car mounted a curb and hit an elderly woman and a toddler.

The 74-year-old pedestrian was taken to hospital with serious, but non life-threatening injuries and the two-year-old girl was taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries, police said.

The crash happened around 8:30 p.m. at the intersection of Yonge and Bradford streets when a Honda Accord turning left onto Bradford mounted the curb on the northwest side of the intersection and hit the woman and the little girl.

The 43-year-old driver wasn’t hurt in the crash and there’s no word yet on charges.
