Man hospitalized after road rage fight in Scarborough

A 62-year-old male is in hospital with head injuries after a case of road rage, Monday morning.

It happened around 11:20 a.m. Monday in the Midland Avenue and Lawrence Avenue East area, Const. Wendy Drummond told CityNews.

Police say it began when a male driver was cut off by another vehicle.

He then got out of his car and confronted the woman driving the other vehicle.

One witness told CityNews the male then began to choke the female driver, at which point another male exited her vehicle and tried to hold the man back by putting him back in his car.

“He went back to the other car and was trying to start something again, and all these other people were coming to hold him back from the people who were in the car, and one of the guys ended up punching him,” the witness explained.

Police say two men in their 20s have been charged with assault.

Officials say the 62-year-old man’s injuries are non-life threatening.
