Two Toronto police officers were hurt by debris from a car crash early Saturday morning.
Around 2:20 a.m., a car going west on St. Clair Avenue lost control east of Keele Street, mounted the curb and crashed into a hydro pole.
Emergency crews freed the driver of the car and took him to Sunnybrook hospital in serious condition.
The passengers and two police officers — whose cruiser was damaged by debris from the impact — had minor injuries.
The traffic services unit closed the intersection of St. Clair and Old Weston Road for about six hours for the investigation.
