Man charged for alleged subway sex assaults

A man accused of sexually assaulting a girl three separate times on the Bloor subway line has been arrested.

Victor Torrejon Huaman, 50, of Toronto, was arrested Wednesday morning by an officer on the Jane subway station platform. He was charged with three counts of sex assault and one count of criminal harassment.

The 17-year-old victim told police she was on a Bloor train around 7 a.m. on Oct. 30, when a man came up to her and sexually assaulted her.

Exactly a week later, on Nov. 6, the teen said the same man approached her again and sexually assaulted her.

It’s alleged the man started following the girl the following week on the Jane station platform, and she escaped by running away.

Huaman is expected in court at Old City Hall on Thursday.
