Canada-wide warrant issued for suspect in gas-and-dash death

A Canada-wide warrant has been issued for a man accused in the death of a gas station attendant following a gas-and-dash in Mississauga last year.

Abdullahi Mohamoud, 22, was charged in the death of the 62-year-old attendant in May 2011, after police allege Mohamoud tried to flee the gas station without paying.

The attendant tried to stop him but later died of injuries he suffered in the pursuit.

Mohamoud was released on bail, and arrested a second time on an outstanding warrant from Alberta. He was returned to an Edmonton court to face those charges, but failed to appear in a Brampton court in August 2012.

He was last seen in Edmonton. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to contact police.
