East end hit-and-run sends girl, 14, to hospital

Police are investigating a hit-and-run that sent a 14-year-old female pedestrian to hospital on Wednesday.

It happened at Main Street and Doncaster Avenue in the city’s east end around 5:30 p.m.

Police say the girl was crossing the street when she was struck by a vehicle heading eastbound.

The vehicle is described as a white pick up truck, 2 door, no cab, empty box, with blue writing on the side of the vehicle. The vehicle fled eastbound on Doncaster.

The driver is described as male, white, late 40’s, white handlebar moustache, heavy muscular build, 200-220 lb, wearing a blue checkered shirt.

The victim’s injuries are considered not life-threatening.
