Police investigating deaths of 3 young children in Quebec

Quebec provincial police are continuing to investigate the suspicious deaths of three young children from the same family in a Drummondville, Que., home.

The victims — two girls, aged two and five, and their four-year-old brother — were discovered late yesterday afternoon after police received an emergency call.

Provincial police spokeswoman Christine Coulombe says the 33-year-old mother of the children is in hospital, for unknown reasons, and is considered an important witness.

Police have still not said how the children died.

Drummondville is about an hour outside Montreal.
