Police pursuit ends with midtown crash

A man was arrested after a police pursuit ended with the suspect’s car smashing into a pole in midtown Wednesday morning.

The suspect slammed into a pole on Soudan Avenue, near Mt. Pleasant Road and Eglinton Avenue, around 1:45 a.m.

The driver took off on foot after the crash and officers chased him down, eventually catching up with him at Isabella and Jarvis streets.

Charges are pending.
