Man, 53, charged with attempted murder of priests

A Vaughan man is charged with attempted murder after allegedly entering a home and dispensing propane gas into the residence while four people slept.

Toronto police allege that a man dispensed propane gas into a home in the Huron Street and College Street area in the early hours of Monday.

Four occupants, all priests, were asleep inside the home, police say.

The man returned a short time later and broke into the home when he was discovered by the occupants, according to police.

Chanh-Sang Lay, 53, is facing over a dozen charges, including four counts of attempted murder and four counts of attempted arson with disregard for human life.
