Hamilton Tiger-Cats fire head coach George Cortez

George Cortez is paying the price for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats’ disappointing season.

The CFL team announced today that Cortez has been fired as head coach and director of football operations.

Cortez joined the Ticats last January after two seasons as a quarterbacks coach with the NFL’s Buffalo Bills.

The team says the search for his replacement will begin immediately.

Hamilton missed the playoffs after posting a 6-12 record this past season.
