Man charged in 2011 East Gwillimbury murder

A man has been charged with first-degree murder following the 2011 death of an East Gwillimbury man, York Regional Police say.
The remains of Peter Gavin, 67, were found near Warden Avenue and St. John’s Side Road in Whitchurch-Stouffville on Aug. 27.
However, police said, they couldn’t locate all of his remains.
Officers believe Gavin had been missing for approximately two months before he was reported missing.
Christian Chis, 25, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder on Wednesday. He will appear in court on Friday.
Katie Shalin, 20, of Newmarket, was arrested and charged with accessory after the fact. She will appear in court on Tuesday.
