Police investigating violent home invasion in Ajax

Durham region police are searching for three suspects after a husband and wife were reportedly tied up during a violent home invasion in Ajax.
Officers were called to the home on Morden Crescent, near Rossland Road and Church Street, on Thursday night.
Police say say two men and a woman entered the home armed with guns and knives around 10 p.m.
A husband and wife were were bound and put in the basement. The husband was able to free himself and alerted neighbours, who called 911.
Police say it’s not yet known if anything was stolen from the home. Neither the man nor the woman was injured, police said.
The investigation is ongoing.
The home invasion may be related to a similar attack earlier that night in Pickering.
Police say a man and a woman knocked on a door n the Sheppard Avenue and Rosebank Road area around 7:30 p.m.
A resident answered, but didn’t let them in. Police said the pair returned, knocked again, and when a woman answered the door they pushed her to the ground and went inside. They took a second resident into the basement.
The woman began to scream and the suspects fled the home, possibly in a white van.
One of the residents was injured, police said.
Police are looking for three people.
The first suspect is a black man in his 20s. He is approximately six feet five inches tall and unshaven. He was wearing a green construction vest.
The second suspect is a black woman in her early 20s. She had curly hair in a ponytail and was also wearing a green construction vest.
The third suspect is a black man.
