Kate Winslet marries Richard Branson’s nephew

Oscar-winning British actress Kate Winslet got married recently in a secret ceremony in New York to Ned Rocknroll, the nephew of Virgin Group founder Richard Branson, her publicist confirmed on Thursday.

The pair were photographed together recently during a trip to Hong Kong where she carried out duties as a Longines brand ambassador to open a new boutique there.

Kate Winslet’s personal publicist told Reuters: “I can confirm that Kate Winslet married Ned Rocknroll in New York earlier this month in a private ceremony attended by her two children and a very few friends and family. The couple had been engaged since the summer.”

Ned Rocknroll was born Abel Smith but changed his name   legally to Ned Rocknroll and works for his uncle Richard Branson on Virgin Galactic — the much-hyped space-travel division of the business.

This is the 37-year-old actress’ third marriage.

Winslet’s first marriage was to Jim Threapleton in 1998 but the couple divorced in 2001.

In 2003, the Titanic actress married Sam Mendes, but they announced their separation in 2010 and subsequently divorced.

Rocknroll has also previously been married — to Eliza Cowdray — but divorced in 2011.

Little is known about the ceremony, but publications have reported that she was given away by long-term friend and Titanic co-star Leonardo DiCaprio.
