GTA’s first 2013 baby born at St. Mike’s

As revellers rang in the new year at parties across the city, a Toronto woman gave birth to the GTA’s first baby of 2013.
So far, Wynn Christopher Laforet appears to be the first baby born in the area this year, delivered exactly at midnight at St. Michael’s Hospital. He weighed seven pounds, four ounces.
The baby boy’s parents are Jane Maggs and Casey Laforet.
A close contender was born seven minutes later at Credit Valley Hospital in Mississauga.
The baby girl weighed six pounds, 11 ounces, and both she and her mother are doing well.
