Visitation held for teen killed on Uxbridge ski hill

A visitation was held Wednesday for a 16-year-old boy who was killed on an Uxbridge ski hill last week.

Alexander Mayer fell at the terrain park at Lakeridge Ski Resort on Friday night. He was rushed to hospital, where he died Saturday morning.

Mayer missed the landing on the final jump of the course and crashed. Though he was wearing a helmet,  he suffered a critical head injury.

It was the first time anyone has died at Lakeridge.

The visitation went from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Dixon-Garland Funeral Home in Markham.  Mayer will be laid to rest on Thursday.
