A major computer problem at Pearson airport has resulted in numerous flights being cancelled and delayed.

The GTAA website shows more than a dozen cancelled flights and almost 90 delayed.

Nav Canada is working on the computer failure, but there’s no word on when service will be back to normal.

Nav Canada’s Ron Singer told CityNews the computer problem isn’t posing a danger to travellers.

“The system problem is not affecting safety,” he said.

“It is causing delays as traffic flow has to be restricted. All radar and surveillance and communications systems are working normally. Air traffic controllers can see and talk to pilots in their airspace.”
