Justin Timberlake hinted at a new album – or at least a new song – in a YouTube video released on Thursday.
In the video, the singer and actor, wearing his trademark fedora, walks down the hallways of a recording studio. In a voiceover, Timberlake said he’s only released two albums in the past 10 years, and he wants to make the next decade count.
The end of the one-minute video finds Timberlake in a recording booth. The voiceover ends, he adjusts the microphone and says, “I’m ready.”
The video also includes a link to Timberlake’s website which displays a large countdown clock, ticking off the days (and minutes and seconds) until Monday.
It’s likely the erstwhile singer – his last album FutureSex/LoveSounds was released in 2006 – will unveil new music then.
Timberlake, 31, has spent the past few years acting and producing and recording music for other artists. He appeared in The Social Network, Friends with Benefits, Bad Teacher, and numerous Lonely Island comedy troupe sketches. He also recently married actor Jessica Biel.
