Police officer hurt in crash at Bathurst & Front streets

A Toronto police officer is in hospital with several broken bones after he was hit by a car Friday morning at Bathurst and Front streets.

The crash happened around 2:30 a.m. while the paid-duty officer was closing the intersection for a film shoot.

The 43-year-old officer went through the windshield, suffering a broken arm, leg and shoulder. He’s listed in serious condition at St. Michael’s Hospital.

The driver remained at the scene. Police have ruled out alcohol as a factor and there’s no word yet on possible charges.

Police had closed the intersection of Bathurst and Front for the investigation. Bathurst fully reopened at 6:30 a.m.
