5 treated for smoke inhalation after Kingston & Warden fire

Five people were treated for smoke inhalation after a fire on Kingston Road east of Warden Avenue on Friday morning.

Toronto firefighters were called to the four-storey building around 5:30 a.m.  The fire grew into a two-alarm blaze, with 45 firefighters and 12 trucks dispatched.

The fire was knocked down by 6 a.m.

One person had to be rescued from a third-floor apartment and five people were treated for smoke inhalation.

Roads in the area were closed as crews battled the flames.

Residents have not yet been allowed back in their homes.

It’s not yet known what caused the fire.
