A 50-vehicle pileup and several smaller crashes closed portions of Highway 401 in Oxford County for several hours Friday.
All lanes have since reopened.
The weather, including white-out conditions and snow squalls in the area, likely played a part in that pileup in the eastbound lanes and in the other crashes in the westbound lanes.
“At least 14 tractor-trailers are involved in the pileup,” OPP Sgt. Dave Rektor told 570News.
The eastbound 401 was closed between Foldens Line and Sweaburg Road.
The westbound 401 was closed between Cedar Creek and Drumbo Road while police investigate the other smaller collisions.
No serious injuries have been reported but there are some minor injuries, Rektor said.
