Male pedestrian dies in hospital after Whitby collision

An 18-year-old man died in hospital after he was hit by a vehicle at Dundas and Hickory streets in Whitby on Thursday night.
A second man, 19, was also hit as the pair was crossing Dundas Street. He remains in a Toronto hospital in critical condition, police say.
The pedestrians were hit around 10:45 p.m. Weather may have been a factor in the collision.
Police say the driver remained at the scene and got out of their vehicle to help the victims.
There’s no word on possible charges.
