A 14-year-old boy has only minor injuries after being struck by a pickup truck in Mississauga, police say.

The teen was pinned against a fence by the truck in the Courtneypark Drive East and Mavis Road area shortly before 3 p.m. on Friday until he was freed.

Firefighters had to cut part of the fence away from the boy, who was alert and conscious when emergency crews arrived.

He was then flown to SickKids hospital, where his injuries were found to be minor.

Peel police are investigating but it’s not yet known what caused the driver to strike the teen.
