6 people charged in connection to Edwin Villon’s murder

A man and woman are facing first-degree murder charges and four others have been charged in connection to the west-end murder of Edwin Villon last September.

The six accused were arrested Thursday, police said. Michael Seecharran, 22, and Karla Garcia-Woltke, 41, are accused of Villon’s murder. They’re also accused of conspiracy to traffic cocaine.

Villon’s body was discovered outside an apartment building on Midden Crescent, near Eglinton Avenue West and The Westway, around 7 a.m. on Sept. 16, 2012. He had been shot in the head.

Witnesses told police they saw one of the alleged killers driving Villon’s 1998 Nissan Pathfinder, with its distinctive hubcaps and rims, in the area and around Pearson International Airport. The vehicle was set on the fire the following day.

Investigators released images of a hubcap found at the scene.

Four other people also face charges. Patraj Seecharran, 42, was charged with accessory to murder after the fact; Claudia Garcia-Woltke, 36, was charged with attempting to obstruct justice; Lazaro Carias-Caseros, 31, and Lazaro Carias-Caseros, 18, were charged with conspiracy to traffic cocaine.

All of the accused were scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.
