Bautista misses 2nd straight Jays game with ankle injury

By The Canadian Press

Toronto Blue Jays slugger Jose Bautista will miss a second straight game with a right ankle injury.

The veteran right-fielder suffered the injury Thursday night against the Cleveland Indians and missed Friday night’s 6-4 home loss to the Boston Red Sox at Rogers Centre.

Rajai Davis was pencilled in as Toronto’s starter in right field for Saturday afternoon’s contest against Boston in place of Bautista.

Bautista twisted his ankle while running to first base on a fielder’s choice in the eighth inning against Cleveland.

Bautista is listed as day-to-day, leaving his status for Sunday afternoon’s finale against the Red Sox up in the air.
