$26K bottle of scotch stolen from downtown LCBO store

A man stole a rare bottle of Glenfiddich scotch worth $26,000 from a downtown LCBO store earlier this month, Toronto police say.

On April 8, a man entered the LCBO at 2 Cooper Street at Queens Quay East and selected two bottles, including the 50-year-old single malt scotch, which was in a glass case. He paid for the wine but not for the scotch.

The scotch is extremely rare with only 15 available in Ontario and 50 bottles available worldwide.

Spokespeople for Toronto police and the LCBO weren’t immediately available for comment.

The man is described as white, 35-45, five feet 10, clean shaven with black-framed glasses. He was last seen wearing a Burberry plaid shirt, brown hat, brown trench coat and black jeans.
