‘Your whole life changes,’ former bank manager recalls armed robbery

A former bank manager says she is no longer the person she once was following a terrifying armed robbery.

The woman — who 680News is not identifying to protect her identity — was adored by her employees for her fun-loving, bubbly personality.

“I’ve been working for the bank for a long time and I loved my job,” she said.

But this changed the day an armed robber entered the bank and held a gun to her head, she says.

“He took me to the machine and put the gun to my head and demanded me to get money for him.”

“The most devastating experience that you could imagine because you don’t know what’s going to happen. You don’t know if they’re going to shoot you, you don’t know if they’re going to kill you.”

She feared the worst.

“That this is it. I’ll never see my family again.”

The robbery took away her sense of security. She says she has been unable to work since.

“Going through that ordeal has put me through a lot of anxiety and pain because I can’t do that anymore.”

“It was devastating. Your whole life changes. It will never, ever go away — never ever.”

The woman is sharing her story on the heels of a violent robbery at a west-end TD bank on Sunday.

A 22-year-old bank teller and 54-year-old customer were left with gunshot wounds.

Police arrested two suspects in connection with the brazen daylight robbery.

Lenroy Jackson, 27, of Toronto and Andre Palmer, 26, of Brampton face a string of charges.
