Leafs playoff tickets offered in ‘Wendel Says!’ competition

Dozens of passionate Toronto Maple Leafs fans were at the Air Canada Centre (ACC) on Monday morning for a chance to get their hands on much coveted playoff tickets.

Former captain Wendel Clark hosted a ‘Wendel Says!’ competition at the Acc where fans, donned in their best Leafs gear, competed in a series of challenges similar to the game Simon Says.

Fans had the chance to win giveaways, prizes as well as first round Leafs playoff tickets.

Earlier on Monday, Clark said he thinks the Leafs can take the Boston Bruins in the first round, but it will take six or seven games.

“I think it’s tough – Boston’s had our number, but maybe that mentally sharpened us,” Clark told Breakfast Television.

“Maybe they think it’s going to be too easy because they’ve always had our number.”

Clark wasn’t the only former captain to come out and show their support to Leafs Nation at the ACC.

Darryl Sittler, who was on the ice for the blue and white the last time the Leafs played Boston in the playoffs, signed autographs and posed for photos with fans.

“The Bruins aren’t the same as they were back in the 70s obviously, the game’s changed so much and we played in the old Boston Gardens, which was a difficult place to win in. Having said that, our team’s been pretty consistent over the year,” he told CityNews.

Sittler predicted the Leafs will take the series in six games.
