Premier Kathleen Wynne has reshuffled her cabinet after MPP Harinder Takhar resigned as Government Services Minister on Wednesday.

Wynne said the reason for his resignation was due to medical issues.

John Milloy will become Minister of Government Services in addition to his role as Government House Leader and Finance Minister Charles Sousa will take on the responsibility as Chair of the Management Board of Cabinet.

“I wish Harinder a speedy recovery and thank him for the role he has played in my new government,” Wynne said in a release.  “And I want to thank John and Charles for taking on these new responsibilities and for their continued contributions as we work to create jobs and help people with their everyday lives.”

Takhar will continue to serve as the MPP for Mississauga-Erindale.

Takhar ran against Wynne during the Liberal leadership race. He then threw his support behind Wynne’s rival Sandra Pupatello after he dropped off the ballot.
