Acton senior assault caught on video

A suspect who was caught on video shoving an elderly man across a convenience store in Acton is being sought by Halton police.

Police say the victim was walking his dog across Mill Street East near Main Street North in Acton around 3 p.m. on May 20 when a driver, travelling on the same street, sped up.

The man was forced to pick up his dog and hurry to finish crossing the street.

The driver then stopped his car, got out and yelled at the man. The victim took shelter in a nearby convenience store but the driver pursued him.

While inside the store, the driver pushed the man to the ground, throwing him several feet across the store.

While he’s lying down, the driver continues to yell, pointing his finger at the man.

The elderly man had bruising, abrasions and muscle damage, police said.

The suspect is white, 35 to 40 years old, six-feet tall, 190 pounds, with black shoulder length hair and a muscular build.

He was driving a grey minivan.
