A second suspect has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of Anthony Smith.
Smith, 21, died in hospital after he was shot at King and Portland streets in downtown Toronto on March 28.
He was one of the men in a photo with Mayor Rob Ford that’s been circulating in the media, alongside reports of an alleged video of Ford smoking drugs. Smith is the one holding a bottle in the photo.
Two weeks ago, Gawker.com and the Toronto Star reported that a video was being shopped around that allegedly shows the mayor smoking from a crack pipe.
CityNews has not verified those allegations nor can it say that a video exists.
Ford has denied the picture indicates he has ties with the drug trade, saying he takes pictures with everyone. And he has denied the crack cocaine reports.
Hanad Mohamed, 23, of Toronto, was located and arrested in Fort McMurray, Alta., last Friday, Toronto police said Thursday.
Mohamed is being brought back to Toronto and is expected in court at Old City Hall on Friday.
In April, Nisar Hashimi, 23, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with first−degree murder and attempted murder while using a firearm in Smith’s homicide.
