G20 protester was making ‘Beverly Hills, 90210’ sign when cops advanced

A man who was arrested at the G20 protests three years ago says seconds before he was tackled by police and arrested he was making a poster about the TV show Beverly Hills, 90210.

Adam Nobody, a 30-year-old stage hand, testified today at the trial of a police officer he alleges used excessive force in arresting him.

Const. Babak Andalib-Goortani has pleaded not guilty to assault with a weapon.

At the start of the trial today the court was shown videos that witnesses took of Nobody’s arrest at a G20 demonstration on June 26, 2010, at the Ontario legislature.

Nobody can be seen with a neon yellow bristol board in hand being tackled by police, then several officers pile on top of him and he alleges Andalib-Goortani hit him in the rib area.

Nobody says right before he started moving away from the advancing police line he was writing, “Let Donna graduate” on the poster — a reference to an episode featuring Tori Spelling’s character on the popular 1990s show.
