‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ gets 2 more sequels

Sony confirmed Monday that two more installments will be added to the Amazing Spider-Man franchise.
Filming for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is currently still underway, but that hasn’t stopped Sony from announcing release dates for the third and fourth installments, which are set to open worldwide on June 10, 2016, and May 4, 2018.
Sony chairman Jeff Blake said in a news release, “Spider-Man is our most important, most successful, and most beloved franchise, so we’re thrilled that we are in a position to lock in these prime release dates over the next five years.”
The Amazing Spider-Man opened July 2012 with British actor Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man, opposite on-screen and off-screen love interest actress Emma Stone, who plays Gwen Stacy in the film.
Luckily, Spidey fans don’t have to wait until 2016 to get their next fix of Spider-Man in all his “amazing” superhero glory. The Amazing Spiderman 2 is set to hit theatres May 2, 2014.
