Family suing TTC bus driver after woman killed

The family of a woman struck and killed by a TTC bus earlier this year is suing the driver and the transit commission for $3.2 million in damages.
Wendy Martella, 48, was struck on Jan. 24 on Eglinton Avenue East near Birchmount Road. She was crossing at the intersection of Eglinton and Sinnott Road when she was hit.
Martella died later in hospital.
Her widow Paul Martella and lawyer Dale Orlando held a news conference Wednesday to announce the lawsuit.
Magdalene Angelidis is charged with careless driving and failing to stop at a red light. She will appear in court Thursday.
The charges against Angelidis have not been proven.
