TIFF kicks off free summer screenings in downtown

It’s a far cry from glitzy soirees and celebrity-packed cafes. But this summer, the Toronto International Film Festival will hold free outdoor movie screenings at David Pecaut Square – beach blankets encouraged.

The romantic classics – the series includes Moonstruck, Sleepless in Seattle and The Way We Were – will run every Wednesday until Aug. 28.

TIFF in the Park 2013: A Summer of Romance is hosted by TIFF and the Toronto Entertainment District BIA .

The schedule kicks off with Michael Curtiz’s romantic Hollywood classic Casablanca and closes with Nicholas Sparks’ modern love story The Notebook.
