Couple charged with terror bomb plot to appear in court

The couple accused of plotting to bomb the B.C. legislature on Canada Day are expected to appear in provincial court Tuesday morning.
The RCMP arrested John Nuttall and Amanda Korody last week, alleging the two were planning to detonate pressure-cooker bombs as part of a terror plot that police say was inspired by al-Qaida.
Nuttall’s lawyer Tom Morino says Tuesday’s hearing in Surrey is expected to be adjourned to allow time for disclosure.
Since the arrests, details have emerged indicating Nuttall and Korody were impoverished, troubled individuals who converted to Islam.
Korody and Nuttall are each charged with knowingly facilitating a terrorist activity, making or possessing an explosive device and conspiracy to place an explosive device with the intent to cause death or injury.
Morino says the two have not yet entered pleas.
