Honda Indy admission is free on Fan Friday

It’s Fan Friday at the Honda Indy in Toronto.

Admission all day Friday is covered by the Ontario Honda Dealers Association, and those attending are encouraged to make a donation to the Make A Wish Canada charity, which the group will match dollar for dollar.

Fans can check out the on-track action and stunt shows as well as line up for autographs from their favourite drivers.

For the first time, full-length IndyCar races are planned for both Saturday and Sunday, which Honda Indy president Charlie Johnstone said gives people more opportunities to attend.

On Thursday, he said he expects attendance numbers to be up with the weekend forecast of sunshine. All told, Honda Indy Toronto generates $50 million for the local economy.

This year’s event, which runs Friday to Sunday, features a 2.84-kilometre, 11-turn street course track that goes through and around the Exhibition Place fair grounds and uses Lake Shore Boulevard as the backstretch.
