Toddler airlifted to hospital after fall from Mississauga balcony

A two-year-old child was airlifted to Sick Kids Hospital after falling from a sixth-floor balcony in Mississauga.

Peel police told CityNews the child was conscious and breathing when emergency crews arrived on scene at an apartment on Colonial Drive, in the Winston Churchill Boulevard and Dundas Street West area around 5:45 p.m. Saturday.

“He was crying at the time and he had some visible lacerations to the head area,”┬áConst. George Tudos told CityNews.

Paramedics told CityNews the child was transported with serious injuries. His condition is now listed as stable.

There has been no word on how the incident happened or if charges will be laid.

Police continue to investigate.
